Halliburton, Pampa Energía partner on Vaca Muerta digitalization initiative

June 09, 2026

(WO) — Pampa Energía has selected Halliburton to support a multi-year digital transformation initiative aimed at improving operational efficiency and supporting production growth across its unconventional assets in Argentina's Vaca Muerta shale play.

Under the agreement, Halliburton will deploy an integrated digital program that combines reservoir modeling, logistics optimization, energy efficiency management and workflow automation to support decision-making across Pampa's subsurface and operations teams.

The initiative comes as development activity continues to accelerate in Vaca Muerta, one of the world's largest shale resources. Pampa Energía is targeting production growth of up to 45,000 bopd by 2027 and said the digital platform will help support efficient scaling of operations while maintaining capital discipline.

“This collaboration is about transforming decision-making and execution, turning insights into outcomes effectively,” said Tony Antoun, senior vice president of Landmark at Halliburton. “By connecting trusted data, proven science and industrial-grade AI in the workflows teams use, we can help Pampa Energía move from insight to action faster and advance its Vaca Muerta growth strategy with confidence.”

According to Halliburton, the program will integrate data governance, automation and scientific models into operational workflows to improve decision speed, enhance collaboration between teams and maximize asset performance.

The deployment reflects a growing industry focus on digital technologies and AI-enabled workflows to improve development efficiency in unconventional resource plays. Halliburton said the framework is designed to provide a scalable foundation that can evolve alongside Pampa's future development plans.

As activity expands across Argentina's shale sector, operators continue to invest in technologies aimed at optimizing drilling, completions and production performance while supporting long-term growth objectives.
