LUFKIN upgrades rod lift platform with advanced well design capabilities
(WO) - LUFKIN Industries has introduced an updated version of its SROD rod lift design software, aimed at improving well performance and artificial lift efficiency.
The SROD V9.5.0 platform enables engineers to import well design data from multiple sources, reducing manual data entry and allowing faster evaluation of existing wells. The software applies wave equation modeling and automated simulation tools to assess operating conditions, including load, torque and energy usage.
New features include a counterbalance reporting function that calculates optimal configurations to improve system efficiency and reduce equipment strain. The update also incorporates enhancements to streamline workflows and improve usability.
The software is designed to support operators in identifying performance issues in mature wells and optimizing rod lift systems to improve productivity while minimizing energy consumption.
