SLB, Azule Energy expand digital platform to optimize Angola operations
(WO) - SLB has signed a three-year agreement with Azule Energy to expand deployment of its Delfi digital platform across the company’s operations in Angola, aiming to improve execution efficiency and streamline upstream workflows.
Azule Energy—an Angola-based joint venture between bp and Eni—is the country’s largest independent producer, operating a portfolio of complex offshore assets. The expanded agreement builds on earlier use of the Delfi platform within Azule’s reservoir organization, where it supports modeling, simulation and well planning.
Under the new scope, the platform will be extended across broader operational workflows, enabling integration of subsurface data with planning and execution processes. The move is designed to improve decision-making speed and consistency across Azule’s operations.
Early deployments have demonstrated measurable gains. SLB said integrated workflows, including its DrillPlan well planning and engineering system, have reduced planning cycles from days to hours while increasing automation and reducing manual coordination.
Delivery of the digital solutions will be supported through SLB’s Luanda Performance Center, allowing for localized deployment and ongoing operational support.
The agreement reflects a broader shift toward enterprise-scale digital operations in the upstream sector, as operators increasingly adopt cloud-based platforms and AI-enabled tools to enhance performance, improve reliability and optimize development of mature assets.
