Petrobras concludes third well in Moita Bonita area, Sergipe basin

April 30, 2015

RIO DE JANEIRO -- Petrobras has finished drilling well 3-BRSA-1296-SES, in concession BM-SEAL-10, Block SEAL-M-499, in the ultra-deep waters of the Sergipe basin.

The test results confirmed the presence of light oil and good conditions of reservoirs porosity and permeability. Two light oil intervals with 24 m of total thickness were reported.

The well is located 94 km off Aracaju, 10 km from the discovery well, in 2,988 m of water. According to Petrobras, such a water depth represents a new record for maritime well drilling in the Brazilian offshore.

This is the third extension well in the Moita Bonita area, discovered in August 2012, and it is part of the Segipe-Alagoas basin deepwater exploration project.

Petrobras holds 100% interest in the Block and will proceed with the Discovery Evaluation Plan.
