Talisman Energy to drill in Snomus Prospect in Central North Sea
STAVANGER, Norway -- Talisman Energy has received consent from the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway for exploration drilling of well 15/12-24.
Talisman is to drill well 15/12-24 in a prospect named Snomus, to investigate the area's potential.
The well will be drilled by Mærsk Giant, which is a jackup mobile drilling facility. It is owned and operated by the A.P. Møller-Mærsk Group. It was built in Japan by Hitachi and completed in 1986.
Mærsk Giant can operate in water depths of up to 107 m and accommodates 87 people.
Talisman is the operator for PL672 in Block 15/12 in the Central North Sea.
