Newpark Drilling Fluids opens new world headquarters, lab facility

KATY -- Newpark Drilling Fluids, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Newpark Resources, today opened its new world headquarters and laboratory facility in Katy, Texas. Newpark Drilling Fluids President Bruce Smith joined the company’s executive staff in welcoming employees to their new home.

“We broke ground on this project in March 2012,” stated Smith. “It is exciting to see all the planning that went into the design and construction of the complex come to fruition. The new facility places our industry-leading fluids laboratory and technical staff in the same location as our management, administrative, engineering, operations, sales and marketing groups.”

The facility is located on 11 acres along Houston’s Interstate 10 Energy Corridor, just off Mason Road. Newpark’s research and development laboratory, including a field services lab, occupies 37,000 sq ft of the building’s 106,000 sq ft total. The lab features Newpark's state-of-the-art downhole drilling simulator and a full range of analytical capabilities.
