Titan Specialties acquires EBS

Titan Specialties, a leading provider of perforating and cased-hole logging technology, has acquired EBS, a privately held company located in Wichita Falls, Texas, that manufactures select fire perforating switches, announced Titan Chief Executive Officer Ken Babcock.

The EBS switch system, known as the EB Switch, is a pressure-actuated system used in wireline applications to selectively fire a string of two or more perforating guns in a single run.

Titan has been distributing the EB Switch, but this purchase will allow the company to provide:
•         Greater product availability through its network of 16  U.S. distribution centers and 10 domestic and international distributors;
•         Increased inventory levels due to Titan’s investment in the product line, which allows for manufacturing expansion;
•         Enhanced system integration with Titan’s current line of subs and hardware; and
•         Seamless integration with Titan’s ControlFire™ addressable electronic switch system.

“Adding this product to our line of perforating switch systems, along with the ControlFire system we acquired from Welltec earlier this year, enables us to provide our customers with an even wider range of options for their perforating needs,” said Babcock.  “And the increased inventory levels at our distribution centers will give our customers greater access to this product in addition to the complete line of Titan products and support.”

Titan Specialties designs, manufactures and distributes perforating gun systems, shaped charges, TCP systems, and electronic well-logging instrumentation for the global oilfield services industry.  The company is headquartered in Pampa, Texas, with approximately 335 employees.  Titan has Texas manufacturing facilities in Pampa, Milford and Tyler and a network of 26 distribution centers and distributors worldwide.
