GEODynamics, Inc., introduces the new, patented, HELLFire perforating system that allows the industry to more effectively complete multi-stage plug-and-perf operations. At 9.5-in., total length per cluster, the short-bodied HELLFire system eliminates tool string length and delivers more clusters per stage. Increasing cluster count per stage will make better wells, as differences due to same-stage formation variation are mitigated.
24-fiber quick connectors provide safe solutions in explosive atmosphere
Optical Cable Corporation’s EZ-Mate Ex line of quick connectors provides up to 24 fiber connections in a single connector, with hazardous location protection for Zone 1 (explosive-likely atmosphere) and Zone 2 (explosive-unlikely atmosphere). This speeds up the ATEX (atmosphere explosibles) and IECEx (International Electrotechnical Commission) certification process, and also can reduce time to market, along with reduced testing and certification costs for customers.
Environmentally friendly, subsea equipment preservation fluid meet regulatory requirements
Universal Subsea, Inc. (USI), has introduced Defender Stasis LT, a lightweight, nontoxic, biodegradable preservation fluid that provides long-term protection for subsea equipment components and interface profiles. The fluid is compatible with all commonly used metals and nonmetallic materials in oilfield service.

Single-plane, three-charge perforating system provides well completion design flexibility
DynaEnergetics, a business of DMC Global Inc., has achieved a 100% success rate on field trials of its DS Trinity perforating system. At 8-in. long, the length-optimized solution is up to 3.5 times shorter than conventional perforating guns, enabling much higher gun counts per stage. In addition, the cost-effective system eliminates the sub adaptor typically used to connect adjacent guns in a string.
Underwater safety garment provides increased mobility, heat in cold water
Iron Ocean has worked with the Oil & Gas Innovation Centre and Heriot-Watt University to develop the Centurion 3, an offshore survival system, comprised of a three-layer upper body garment that produces heat when immersed in cold water. The garment is designed to be worn under the traditional offshore survival suit, and is made of tear-resistant, fire-retardant and compression fit materials, making it less bulky and restrictive.

Advanced sealing technology prevents emissions at the connection point
The Clock Spring Full Metal Gasket utilizes DeltaV-Seal technology, under license from Norwegian company Pipeotech AS, and is the world’s only DNV GL-type approved gasket for zero emissions. The CNC-milled gasket is manufactured from a single block of metal that is the same material as the surrounding metal. This allows the gasket to expand and contract at the same rate, and maintain a complete seal throughout, while still exceeding industry requirements for durability.
