(WO) — SLB's OneSubsea joint venture has secured a contract from bp to provide a subsea boosting system for the Thunder Horse development in the deepwater Gulf of America/Gulf of Mexico, extending the operator's use of standardized subsea processing technology across multiple offshore projects.

The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract follows recent subsea boosting awards for bp's Kaskida and Tiber developments. All three projects will utilize the same supplier-led, standardized subsea boosting system designed to improve project execution efficiency and reduce delivery timelines.

Under the contract, OneSubsea will provide the subsea boosting system along with project management, engineering, manufacturing and testing services.

Subsea boosting technology is used to increase production and improve hydrocarbon recovery by enhancing flow from subsea wells, helping operators maximize output from offshore assets and extend field life.

According to OneSubsea, the standardized approach enables faster deployment and greater operational efficiency while supporting production optimization across bp's deepwater portfolio.

“Subsea boosting is an important enabler for extending production from existing assets,” said Mads Hjelmeland, CEO of SLB OneSubsea. “Our standardized subsea solutions support faster deployment and improved efficiency, helping operators enhance production and recovery while optimizing overall field performance.”

Thunder Horse is one of bp's largest producing assets in the U.S. Gulf. The latest award further strengthens the ongoing collaboration between bp and OneSubsea as operators increasingly look to standardized subsea technologies to streamline execution and improve economics across large-scale deepwater developments.
