Aramco taps McDermott to support future Saudi energy projects
(WO) — Aramco has selected McDermott as one of 11 contractors under a long-term project management consultancy (PMC) agreement supporting future energy, downstream, petrochemical and low-carbon developments across Saudi Arabia.
The multi-year framework agreement positions McDermott to provide engineering, front-end development and project management consultancy services for projects within Aramco's investment portfolio.
Under the agreement, McDermott will work in partnership with Saudi engineering company Solutions Leaders Fayez Engineering (SLFE), an Aramco-approved engineering services contractor. The companies said the collaboration is designed to combine McDermott's global project execution experience with SLFE's in-country engineering and support capabilities.
“This long-term agreement reflects Aramco's confidence in our proven execution capabilities and our track record of delivering complex, world-class projects in the Kingdom,” said Rob Shaul, Senior Vice President of Low Carbon Solutions at McDermott.
Projects executed under the agreement will utilize a combined in-Kingdom and out-of-Kingdom delivery model intended to support Aramco's localization objectives and In-Kingdom Total Value Add (IKTVA) program. McDermott will provide overall execution planning, governance and technical leadership, while SLFE will support engineering and client-facing activities within Saudi Arabia.
McDermott has supported numerous Aramco projects over the years and maintains a significant presence in the Middle East. The latest agreement expands the company's position within Saudi Arabia's energy sector as Aramco advances a broad portfolio of oil, gas, petrochemical and lower-carbon developments.
