Energy NL conference to spotlight offshore growth opportunities
(WO) — Industry leaders, government officials and energy stakeholders are set to gather this week in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, for the Energy NL Conference & Exhibition 2026, where discussions will focus on offshore oil and gas development, energy security and emerging opportunities across Atlantic Canada.
The three-day event, running June 2-4, is themed "Energy Opportunity: From the Atlantic to the World" and will feature more than 30 speakers representing industry, government and the broader energy sector.
The conference will open with remarks from Tony Wakeham, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, followed by an industry update from Kerry Moreland, President of ExxonMobil Canada. Additional presentations will examine global energy market trends and the role of Newfoundland and Labrador's offshore sector, including perspectives from Graeme Bagley, Head of Exploration and Production at Westwood Energy, and Jim Keating, Chief Executive Officer of Oil and Gas Corporation of Newfoundland and Labrador (OilCo).
Other sessions will address local content, supply chain development and investment opportunities in the province's evolving energy industry. Conference organizers said more than 70 Energy NL member companies will participate in the exhibition component of the event.
“The conference provides a unique opportunity to hear directly about the major projects driving our industry today and the opportunities shaping its future,” said Richard Mandeville, Conference Chair of Energy NL.
“The Energy NL Conference & Exhibition 2026 is the premier gathering for Newfoundland and Labrador’s energy sector,” said Charlene Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of Energy NL. “Through engaging discussions and expert insights, attendees will explore key topics including local content and supply chain opportunities, regulatory advancements, and the next phase of our province’s evolving energy landscape.”
The conference comes as Newfoundland and Labrador continues to pursue new offshore oil and gas developments while also advancing renewable energy and other emerging energy initiatives aimed at strengthening the province's role in global energy markets.
