April 07, 2026

(WO) — SLB OneSubsea and Subsea7 have signed a strategic collaboration agreement with PETRONAS Suriname to support the development of offshore subsea projects in the country’s emerging deepwater basin.

The agreement, established under the Subsea Integration Alliance, provides a long-term framework for early engagement across the project lifecycle. The approach is designed to enable joint development of cost-effective solutions, accelerate timelines and improve overall project economics.

Under the framework, the alliance may deliver integrated engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) services for multiple discoveries. The scope includes subsea production systems (SPS) and subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF).

“Collaboration and simplification are key to unlocking resources faster,” said Mads Hjelmeland, CEO of SLB OneSubsea, noting that the agreement builds on an existing relationship with PETRONAS Suriname.

The partnership aims to leverage combined deepwater expertise and integrated execution to reduce project risk and enhance delivery efficiency as activity increases in Suriname’s offshore sector.

Suriname is emerging as a key exploration and development region in South America, with multiple discoveries driving interest in subsea-led developments and future production growth.
