BW Offshore signs FEED contract for Bay du Nord FPSO with Equinor
(WO) - BW Offshore has signed a front-end engineering and design (FEED) agreement with Equinor for the Bay du Nord development offshore Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
The agreement marks the next phase of the project following BW Offshore’s selection as preferred FPSO contractor and advances the development toward a potential final investment decision (FID) in 2027.
The FEED phase, expected to run through the end of 2026, will focus on maturing the FPSO design, refining the execution plan and schedule, and progressing commercial alignment, including the selection of key subcontractors and suppliers. The work will support preparation of a firm offer to Equinor.
“Signing the FEED agreement is a significant step for the Bay du Nord project,” said CEO Marco Beenen. “We are fully committed to progressing the development in close cooperation with Equinor and local stakeholders.”
BW Offshore has also established a local office in St. John’s to support project execution and engagement with regional suppliers and authorities as development advances.
Bay du Nord is one of Canada’s key offshore oil projects, with development planning continuing as operators move toward a final investment decision.
