INPEX expands Indonesia upstream ties with Pertamina, advances Abadi LNG project
(WO) — INPEX has extended its strategic collaboration with PT Pertamina (Persero) while signing a new upstream agreement with its subsidiary PT Pertamina Hulu Energi, reinforcing its position in Indonesia’s oil and gas sector.
The agreements center on advancing the Abadi LNG project in the Masela Block, where INPEX is the operator. The company said the renewed collaboration will support progress across the project’s full value chain.
In addition to extending its existing memorandum of understanding with Pertamina, INPEX signed a separate MOU with Pertamina Hulu Energi focused on upstream business development in Indonesia and across Southeast Asia.
INPEX has operated in Indonesia since the 1960s and continues to prioritize the region as a core part of its growth strategy. The company is targeting expanded natural gas and LNG development as part of its long-term plan.
The agreements are expected to strengthen cooperation on exploration and production activities, while supporting broader LNG development tied to the Abadi project.
INPEX said the partnerships align with its Vision 2035 strategy, which emphasizes growth in natural gas and LNG alongside continued upstream investment in key international markets.
