March 17, 2026

SLB’s OneSubsea joint venture has been awarded an integrated engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by CNOOC for the Kaiping 18-1 deepwater field in the South China Sea.

The contract covers a 20-well development and includes delivery of subsea production systems, including dual electric submersible pump (ESP) configurations, gas lift and gas injection horizontal trees, manifolds, connectors and control systems, along with installation and commissioning support.

The project will utilize standardized subsea architecture designed to reduce system complexity, improve execution efficiency and support future field expansion.

“This award highlights the continued adoption of our standardized subsea systems and the efficiency gains they can deliver on complex multi-well projects,” said Mads Hjelmeland, CEO of SLB OneSubsea.

Execution will include collaboration with regional partners and in-country manufacturing to support project delivery and supply chain continuity.
