ABL secures role on Kamose Phase 4 offshore gas expansion in Egypt
Energy and marine consultancy ABL has been appointed to provide marine warranty survey (MWS) services for the Phase 4 development of the Kamose offshore gas field in Egypt’s Mediterranean waters.
The work will support offshore construction activities for the North Sinai Petroleum Company (NOSPCO), operator of the Offshore North Sinai concession. The Phase 4 expansion includes installation of three new offshore production platform monopods—Hoor-1&2, KSE-1 and Snefru-1—along with drilling of three wells and construction of an 11-km flowline to connect new production to existing infrastructure.
The new facilities will be tied into the field’s current offshore pipeline network and integrated with the mobile offshore production unit (MOPU) already operating at the Kamose field on the eastern flank of the Nile Delta.
ABL’s scope includes technical review and approval of project documentation, procedures and engineering calculations, as well as marine assurance and risk services for installation activities. The company will also support dynamic positioning (DP) trials, provide consulting services and conduct on-site attendance to witness transportation and installation operations for the new offshore infrastructure.
The Kamose expansion forms part of ongoing efforts to sustain and increase offshore gas production in Egypt’s Mediterranean sector through phased development and infrastructure upgrades. ABL has maintained an operational presence in Egypt since 2018, supporting offshore energy and marine projects across the region.
