GEOLOG acquires Quad to expand global wellsite geology, pore pressure capabilities

January 08, 2026

GEOLOG International has acquired Quad Ltd and QO Inc., strengthening its global offering in wellsite and operations geology, pore pressure prediction and fracture gradient analysis for complex drilling environments.

Quad is a long-established provider of wellsite and operations geologists, with recognized expertise in pore pressure and fracture gradient services used to support well planning, real-time drilling decisions and risk management. The acquisition expands GEOLOG’s technical depth across exploration, development and production activities.

GEOLOG and Quad have previously worked together on international projects, and the integration brings Quad’s specialist personnel and subsurface consulting capabilities into GEOLOG’s broader surface logging, digital workflow and drilling support portfolio. The combined organization will support operators in technically demanding settings, including high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) wells, deepwater developments and unconventional plays.

GEOLOG said the transaction enhances its ability to deliver integrated subsurface and drilling support services globally, combining real-time geological interpretation with pore pressure and fracture gradient analysis to help reduce drilling risk and improve well performance.

Quad’s operations and personnel will be incorporated into GEOLOG’s global organization over the coming months as the companies align technical workflows and service delivery. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
