New Permian water recycling system eliminates waste solids

January 20, 2026

WT Oil & Gas and EnviroKlean have launched a new produced water recycling system in the Permian basin designed to eliminate the generation of waste solids during treatment.

The Zero Solids Recycle system is engineered to process up to 150,000 bpd of produced water and allows operators to recycle frac-ready water without creating sludge or other solid waste streams typically associated with conventional treatment methods. The system combines WT Oil & Gas’ field operations and infrastructure with EnviroKlean’s chemical treatment technology.

According to the companies, the approach maintains contaminants in a dissolved state rather than precipitating them into solids, reducing disposal requirements and associated trucking and handling. The system is intended for high-volume Permian operations seeking to lower treatment costs and improve reuse efficiency while reducing environmental liabilities tied to waste solids.

The launch comes as operators across the Permian continue to prioritize produced water reuse amid rising disposal constraints and regulatory scrutiny around water management practices.
