Louisiana Cat sells Custom Compression Systems to Encore Oilfield Services
(WO) - Louisiana Machinery Company LLC, operating as Louisiana Cat, has completed the sale of its Custom Compression Systems (CCS) business to Encore Oilfield Services, marking a shift in ownership for a long-standing Gulf Coast compression fabrication operation.
The transaction closed Jan. 1, 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Custom Compression Systems, formerly Williamson Production Systems, is based at the Port of Iberia in New Iberia, Louisiana. Founded in 1996, the company was acquired by Louisiana Cat in 2009 and has operated as a wholly owned subsidiary for more than 15 years.
CCS designs and fabricates standard and custom natural gas compression packages for onshore and offshore applications. The facility includes more than 100,000 sq ft of covered manufacturing space and heavy-lift capabilities suited for large-scale compression projects serving U.S. Gulf Coast and international markets.
As part of the divestiture, Encore and Louisiana Cat have entered into a supply arrangement under which Encore will source approximately 225,000 horsepower of Caterpillar natural gas engines for future compression packages. Encore will also continue to supply and support Ariel compressor products through its existing distributorship.
Louisiana Cat said the transaction aligns with its strategic focus as Caterpillar’s authorized dealer in Louisiana, while allowing CCS operations to continue under a dedicated oilfield services platform. Encore said the acquisition expands its compression footprint and manufacturing capacity along the Louisiana Gulf Coast.
Chaffe & Associates Inc., along with its broker-dealer affiliate Chaffe Securities Inc., served as financial advisor to Louisiana Cat, with legal counsel provided by Jones Walker LLP.
