TotalEnergies expands Cognite partnership to scale industrial AI across global operations
TotalEnergies has entered a new phase of its strategic partnership with Cognite, aimed at scaling industrial artificial intelligence (AI) across all of the company’s operated upstream assets worldwide.
The three-year agreement will extend the use of Cognite’s industrial data and AI platform to cover the full value chain, from drilling through production. The goal is to make TotalEnergies’ operational data “AI-ready” to improve safety, efficiency, and environmental performance across its global portfolio.
“By creating a unified, AI-ready data foundation, we are accelerating solutions that enhance the safety, operational, and environmental performance of our assets,” said Namita Shah, President of OneTech at TotalEnergies.
Cognite’s Subsea 2.0®-based platform will enable faster access to industrial data, improve analysis, provide dynamic visualization of assets, and support monitoring of critical equipment. The initiative is expected to shorten adoption cycles for AI applications and accelerate production optimization.
“This long-term collaboration with TotalEnergies is about scaling the impact of industrial AI,” said Girish Rishi, CEO of Cognite. “By establishing a strong data foundation, we are equipping their teams to unlock insights and drive operational excellence globally.”
The expanded partnership builds on years of collaboration between the two companies and reflects TotalEnergies’ broader digital transformation strategy, positioning data and AI as strategic levers for more reliable and sustainable energy.
