June 06, 2024

(WO) – SBM Offshore announced that a Fast4Ward hull for the Block 58 development project offshore Suriname has been reserved by TotalEnergies. The announcement is in line with the Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) studies for a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessel (FPSO) for the development project.

The B58 development is the first development within Block 58, roughly 150 km offshore Suriname. TotalEnergies is the operator and holds a 50% interest in Block 58, with APA Corporation holding the other 50%. The final investment decision is expected in the fourth quarter of 2024, for a production start-up in 2028.

Previously, TotalEnergies announced several key milestones for Block 58, which has combined recoverable resources estimated above 700 MMbbl, thanks to the integration of Water Alternating Gas (WAG) injection technology to maximize recovery.

In addition o securing the 200,000 bopd Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit, an agreement was concluded between Staatsolie and TotalEnergies on the field development area, maximizing the value for Suriname and the Block 58 co-venturers over the 25 years Production Period..
