Iowa regulators approve construction permit for Summit Carbon pipeline
Summit Carbon Solutions has received the green light from Iowa regulators to construct the Midwest Carbon Express, a 688-mile pipeline spanning 29 counties.
The extensive review process concluded with the Iowa Utilities Board determining the project serves the public interest, granting Summit Carbon the right to proceed. The pipeline aims to capture emissions from 57 ethanol plants across five states, with operations expected to start in 2026.
