TÜV Rheinland acquires Norway's Safetec Nordic to expand risk management services
(WO) — TÜV Rheinland has acquired Safetec Nordic AS, a leading Norwegian risk management consulting firm, to enhance its global risk, safety, and integrity management services. The acquisition will strengthen TÜV Rheinland’s presence in the Nordic region and consolidate its position as a top consultancy in Europe.
Safetec, which serves sectors including oil & gas, renewables, transportation, and maritime, will continue operating under the TÜV Rheinland Safetec brand in Norway and Sweden starting in 2025. Safetec’s UK operations will be integrated into TÜV Rheinland's existing UK risk and safety consultancy, Risktec.
Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Trondheim, Norway, Safetec has around 150 employees across multiple offices in Norway, Sweden, and the UK. With this acquisition, TÜV Rheinland will have over 600 consultants in risk and safety management across Europe.
“Our decision to join forces with TÜV Rheinland is driven by our shared vision and values,” said Stein Eggan, CEO of Safetec. “Together, we are excited to embark on this new journey, fostering growth opportunities for our employees, accelerating innovation, and strengthening our commitment to sustained success for both our customers and our company.”
Gareth Book, Regional Business Stream Manager for TÜV Rheinland, added, “Safetec will complement our existing risk, safety, and integrity management services. We look forward to building on the customer relationships and trust that both companies have established over decades.”
