(WO) – Energy NL CEO Charlene Johnson joined Anand Beharry, Chair of the Canada Guyana Chamber of Commerce, to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two organizations. The MOU will help enhance market access for members interested in participating in the energy sectors of both regions.

The MOU between Energy NL and the Canada Guyana Chamber of Commerce is intended to establish a good faith relationship between both organizations which will lead to the mutual benefit of their memberships. Areas of cooperation include matchmaking opportunities for interested businesses, market intelligence, trade mission and virtual connections support, and other learning opportunities identified by the organizations and their memberships.

The Canada Guyana Chamber of Commerce promotes and facilitates investment and trade between Guyana and Canada. The memorandum of understanding with the Canada Guyana Chamber of Commerce is in effect until January 2026.

“As one of the world’s fastest growing economies led by a thriving energy sector, Guyana is an important market for Energy NL members seeking to share their decades of knowledge and experience in the energy sector, specifically the offshore oil and gas sector. With such a dynamic economy, this MOU with the Canada Guyana Chamber of Commerce will also allow energy NL members to understand and participate in opportunities outside of the traditional offshore energy sector and engage in the broader Guyanese economy,” said Charlene Johnson, Energy NL CEO.

“Similarly, the MOU will benefit members of the Canada Guyana Chamber of Commerce as they will gain knowledge and access to the evolving Newfoundland and Labrador energy sector and the numerous opportunities it provides,”

Energy NL represents approximately 500 member organizations worldwide which are involved in the energy sector. Members are active in all areas of the supply and service sector and include a diverse representation of businesses that range from offshore supply vessels and helicopters, carbon reduction and sustainable technologies, health and safety equipment and training, engineering solutions and fabricators to law firms and human resource agencies.
