16. Permian driller Endeavor Energy explores potential $30 billion sale

Endeavor holds a massive position in the Permian and has drawn interest in the past from Exxon, Chevron Corp. and ConocoPhillips. It controls rights to about 350,000 acres and produces 331,000 boed.

15. Bolivia makes major oil, natural gas discovery

Bolivia’s state-run oil company Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) made a natural gas discovery at the Remanso-X1 well. The new reservoir will generate approximately $5 billion in gas revenue for the country.

14. “Massive” explosion on Pemex production platform leaves two dead, cuts output by 700,000 bpd

Petroleos Mexicanos said it lost production capacity for about 700,000 bbl of oil, more than a third of its daily output, after a massive platform explosion that left at least two people dead.

13. SLB wins five-year digital transformation contract from Petrobras

SLB was awarded a five-year contract by Petrobras for an enterprise-wide deployment of its Delfi digital platform. The contract scope covers Petrobras’ digital transformation from exploration, development and production operations, including moving subsurface workflows to the cloud to significantly accelerate decision making.
