Energy Workforce & Technology Council presents individual service awards at 2022 annual meeting
The Energy Workforce and Technology Council recognized members and customers for exceptional leadership and accomplishments on behalf of the energy services and technology sector during its 2022 Annual Meeting, held in Point Clear, Ala.
The Industry Influencer Award went to Toby Rice, President & CEO, EQT Corporation. This award recognizes outstanding and personal dedication to advocating on behalf of the energy technology and services sector.
The ESG Accelerator Award was awarded to Apache Corporation for its work to achieve ESG goals while being committed to the core business of oil and gas production. Apache eliminated routine flaring in U.S. onshore operations in October 2021 and has set significant ESG goals that tie directly to incentive compensation for all employees. Jessica Jackson, Vice President, Environment, Health, and Safety, accepted the award on behalf of Apache.
Milestone Environmental Services was presented with the Member Engagement Award, presented each year to the Member Company who has made extraordinary strides in engagement, including serving in leadership positions, on Council committees, garnering company-wide involvement and providing thought leadership.
The DEI Champion Award was presented to Sivasankaran ‘Soma’ Somasundaram, President & CEO, ChampionX for his commitment and advocacy for diversity, equity and inclusion in the industry. Soma also serves on the Council’s Advisory Board.
The ESG Champion Award was presented to Céline Gerson, President & Group Director, Americas, Fugro, for her work promoting ESG principles and education within the association and the industry. She also serves on the Council’s Advisory Board and is a member of the Council’s ESG Committee.
Mark Reed, General Sales Manager Exploration, Mustang Cat, received the Industry Advocate Award for his unwavering advocacy, support and dedication to the sector. Mark also serves on the Council’s Board of Directors and the Gulf Coast Chapter.
The Chapter Champion Award, honoring significant contributions to the Council’s regional chapters, was presented to Jody Helbling, General Manager, Energy Drilling Company. He is the Natchez Chapter Chair.
Simao Silva, Global Account Director, Oceaneering International, received the Emerging Executive Award in recognition of his leadership within the Association and the sector. He serves as the Vice Chair of the Council’s Emerging Executives Committee.
The Council also awarded a scholarship to Mark Bentick, an IPAA/Energy Workforce Education Center’s 2020 Extern Program alum, and currently a student at the University of Texas studying chemical engineering.
The Council congratulates each award recipient and thanks them for their contributions to the energy services and technology sector.
