RIO DE JANEIRO -- Petrobras has started production of Búzios field, in the pre-salt of the Santos basin, by means of platform P-74. Búzios is the first field in production under the Transfer of Rights regime.

P-74 is located about 200 km off the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro, at a water depth of 2,000 m and is the thirteenth platform to go into operation in the Brazilian pre-salt.

Due to the high production potential of Búzios, in addition to P-74, four more platforms will be allocated to this field between 2018 and 2021, each with a capacity to process up to 150,000 bbl of oil and 6 MMcmd.

Búzios is one of the main pre-salt projects of the company and will contribute to the increase of Petrobras’ production under the 2018-2022 Business and Management Plan.
