Patterson-UTI's monthly average U.S. rig count increases by eight
HOUSTON -- Patterson-UTI Energy reported today the company had an average of 88 drilling rigs operating in the U.S. and two rigs in Canada for the month of March 2017.
The company's monthly average U.S. rig count increased by eight from its February average. The Canadian rig count remained unchanged from February. For the three months ended March 31, 2017, the company had an average of 81 drilling rigs operating in the U.S. and two rigs in Canada.
Average drilling rigs operating reported by the company represent the average number of Patterson-UTI's drilling rigs that were operating under a drilling contract.
