Romgaz awards casing, connections and services contract to Tenaris

HOUSTON -- Romgaz has awarded Tenaris with a contract to provide 6,000 tons of casing and TenarisHydril Blue connections to Societatea Națională de Gaze Naturale Romgaz SA Mediaș (Romgaz), the largest producer and main supplier of natural gas in Romania.

The contract also includes Rig Direct services, dispatching pipes directly from Tenaris facilities in Zalau and Ploiesti to Romgaz’s operations with just-in-time delivery.

Tenaris’s Rig Direct model integrates the supply of pipes and accessories from the mill to the rig operating under a single QHSE management system, focusing on process and operational efficiency with the objective of lowering overall costs.

This contract follows the long-term agreement that was signed in 2014, which awarded Tenaris with the supply of all casing requirements for Romgaz’s operations in Romania. Since then, Tenaris has delivered 15,000 tons of casing, including TenarisHydril Blue connections. The TenarisHydril Blue connection has a 100% fully tested pipe body rated seal, excellent overtorque capacity, and the versatility to perform in all environments.
