GEODynamics releases FracIQ Limited Entry Perforating System
FORT WORTH, Texas -- GEODynamics, Inc.’s Engineered Perforating Solutions Division has completed extensive field testing of the latest addition to their family of plug-and-perf technology based products. The FracIQ Limited Entry Perforating System has been applied in over 1,000 frac stages since field testing commenced in April 2016.
The patent-pending FracIQ Perforating System generates constant and consistent perforating entry holes and penetration depths in wells regardless of gun position, well casing or formation type. Constant sized casing holes improve fracture planning by providing optimum pressure diversion while constant rock penetration creates repeatable breakdown pressures. Optimum pressure diversion means better fracture treatments, lower costs, and ultimately more productive wells. The FracIQ System is available in 0.30-in. 0.35-in. and 0.40-in. holes sizes and with GEODynamics’ IQ Gun System technology for optimum shots placement.
FracIQ is the result of GEODynamics’ engineering and development efforts and is part of a broader perforating tool box that allows operators to choose the best perforating system to reduce risk and maximize productivity of their horizontal well completion.
“After significant investment in research and development, our engineering team has developed a new perforating product that many thought was impossible”, said David Ambler, perforating product line manager. “Operators have reported that wells shot with FracIQ using the IQ Gun Systems have improved fracturing predictability and has led to better wells.”
John Hardesty, V.P. of engineering and product development, said, “FracIQ allows us to offer another unique perforating tool for our clients to optimize perforating, to maximize the value of the frac, and to yield unsurpassed well economics.”
Nathan Clark, COO, added, “We are very proud of our ballistic engineering team’s ability to once again solve technical problems that others cannot. Our ongoing development efforts are focused on continuous improvement of completions by utilizing the analysis of field data to help operators select the most appropriate perforating system in order to maximize the value of their well assets.”
