Fugro awarded geotechnical site investigation contract by ONGC India
LEIDSCHENDAM, The Netherlands -- Fugro has been awarded a geotechnical site investigation contract by ONGC India for the KG-DWN-98/2 project on the East Coast of India.
The purpose of the work is to gather site specific geotechnical and geohazard data to aid in the design and later installation of wellheads, manifolds, platforms, FPSO anchors, umbilicals, pipelines and flow lines within the field.
Fugro will deploy its deepwater geotechnical vessel, Fugro Voyager, which will perform work in water depths ranging from 50 m to 1,500 m, commencing before the end of third-quarter 2016.
The fieldwork will be followed by extensive laboratory testing, data analysis, interpretation and integration with previous Fugro acquired AUV Geophysical and Metocean data to provide site characterization reports. Fugro has an extensive deepwater track record supporting deepwater field developments offshore India.
The value of this contract is approximately $26 million.
