Delmar Systems installs new spooling unit in Karratha, Western Australia
BROUSSARD, Louisiana -- Delmar Systems has installed a new 170 mT state-of-the-art spooling unit at its equipment yard in Karratha, Western Australia (WA), to support mooring-related operations.
This spooling unit is the largest available in the region, and it is ideal for the increased size and length of rig and anchor handling vessel wires.
In addition to the new spooling unit, the 3,000-plus m2 facility in Karratha houses a large inventory of certified rental mooring hardware, anchor handling tools and equipment, and pre-lay mooring systems for use in mooring and subsea operations.
All equipment is available with manufacturer’s certifications, provided with inspection certifications, and tracked in Delmar’s proprietary inventory database from the date of purchase and throughout its service life.
Andre Billstein, Delmar’s Australia area manager, said, “We are pleased to add this capability in addition to our large inventory of available mooring equipment to the Australian oil and gas industry. This addition will be vital to supporting our existing and future contracts in Western Australia.”
Delmar maintains an additional equipment storage facility in Fremantle, WA.
