Petrobras implements strike contingency plan

November 06, 2015

RIO DE JANEIRO -- Petrobras has managed to reduce the impact of the strike on its operations by implementing its contingency plan, the Rio De Janeiro-based company announced Thursday night.

In line with expectations, the loss of production on Wednesday, Nov. 4, amounted to 134,000 bbl of oil, which means a 25% recovery with respect to that recorded the previous day. The estimated loss for Thursday is 127,000 bbl.

There are isolated cases of occupation of facilities and control of production, without permission for contingency teams to operate, Petrobras said.

Petrobras is taking all the appropriate legal measures to protect its rights and will continue to do everything needed to ensure the maintenance of its operations, the preservation of its installations and the safety of its workers, the company added.
