Polarcus Adira mobilizes to U.S. Gulf of Mexico
DUBAI -- Polarcus Adira is in transit from Las Palmas to the U.S. Gulf of Mexico to commence a six-month charter for TGS.
The purpose-built 3D seismic vessel is equipped with specialized, advanced maritime technology to minimize the environmental footprint of the operation and the vessel continues to set new standards for the industry, having been awarded the highest achievable Triple-E environmental and energy efficiency rating by DNV-GL.
The survey for TGS will cover an area of 11,500 sq km and will involve the technologically-advanced seismic vessel towing a large receiver spread, comprising multiple solid streamers each ten km in length, and a specialized source array designed to focus the acoustic energy in a vertical direction. The program will image both the regional stratigraphy and deep basin structures in the deepwater Central Gulf of Mexico.
Commenting on the charter, Rolf Ronningen, CEO Polarcus said: "This will be our first project in the U.S.; the first of many we anticipate in the years ahead. We are especially excited to have this opportunity to demonstrate our capabilities within this important market and we look forward to bringing our unique environmental agenda to the U.S. Gulf and to delivering TGS a very high quality dataset for their multi-client program."
