Woodside approves $1.03 billion Persephone project development

PERTH, Australia -- Woodside, along with the North West Shelf (NWS) project participants, has approved the Persephone gas development project off the north-west coast of Australia.

The project will involve a two well, 7 km subsea tieback from the Persephone field to the existing North Rankin Complex.

The total investment for the project is expected to be approximately $1.03 billion (A$1.2 billion), with project start-up expected in early 2018.

The Persephone project participants are: Woodside Energy (Operator 16.67%); BHP Billiton (16.67%); BP (16.67%); Chevron Australia (16.67%); Japan Australia LNG (16.67%); and Shell -Australia (16.67%).
