viAct targets oil and gas safety with vision-enabled AI agent platform

May 14, 2026

(WO) — viAct is preparing to launch an AI agent platform designed for high-risk industrial environments, combining vision-language model (VLM) technology with real-time operational monitoring for sectors including oil and gas, construction, manufacturing and logistics.

The platform, known as viGent, uses visual intelligence to analyze live video feeds and operational data streams, enabling AI agents to monitor jobsite conditions, identify hazards and support safety and compliance workflows.

According to the company, many existing AI agents used in industrial settings rely primarily on documents and workflow automation but lack the ability to interpret real-time site activity through visual data.

viAct said its system integrates CCTV feeds, IoT sensors and audio inputs to provide continuous monitoring and automated alerts across industrial operations.

The company cited an offshore drilling application in Abu Dhabi where the system identified an unauthorized red-zone entry during crane operations, triggering alerts before manual intervention. According to viAct, the deployment contributed to reductions in safety violations and operational disruptions.

The platform is expected to include more than 300 specialized AI agents designed to address safety, productivity and compliance tasks across heavy industries.

viAct said the technology is currently deployed across projects in Singapore, the Gulf region, Hong Kong and Malaysia, supporting industrial and infrastructure operations.

“AI agents can reason and automate workflows, but in safety-critical environments they also need the ability to interpret what is happening on site in real time,” said Gary Ng, co-founder and CEO of viAct.

The company said the platform is intended to support a shift from reactive incident management toward predictive safety monitoring and autonomous operational oversight.
