Semco Maritime wins North Sea control, safety systems contract across eight assets
(WO) — Semco Maritime has been awarded a multi-million-pound contract by a North Sea operator to provide integrated control and safety systems (ICSS) support across eight offshore and onshore assets in the UK Continental Shelf.
The three-year agreement, which began in February 2026, includes options for two one-year extensions. The scope covers support, maintenance, modification and rationalization of more than 12 industrial control systems currently in operation.
Semco Maritime’s Aberdeen-based team will deliver engineering, operations and maintenance services focused on safety-critical systems, including distributed control systems (DCS), safety instrumented systems (SIS), emergency shutdown systems (ESD), fire and gas detection systems and SCADA platforms.
The contract is designed to maintain safe and reliable operations without requiring major system upgrades, while supporting regulatory compliance and asset performance.
“We are pleased to secure this contract, which brings together control and safety systems across multiple assets into a unified support framework,” said David Hutchinson, managing director of Semco Maritime UK Ltd.
Semco Maritime said the agreement reflects continued demand for lifecycle support and brownfield modifications across mature North Sea assets.
