Logan Industries adds expanded machining capabilities to its Hempstead, Texas, facility

October 04, 2022

Logan Industries, a hydraulic repair, manufacturing and rental company, has expanded its machining capabilities at its Hempstead, Texas facility, adding a CNC horizontal boring mill and a CNC vertical turning center.

The state-of-the-art facility, which encompasses more than 50,000 sq. ft of covered workspace, enables Logan to offer world-class machine design, manufacturing and service. Both machines provide extra power and stability to undertake operations not possible with other machine tools.

The CNC horizontal boring mill features a 4-axis machine with XYZ travel capabilities. The mill’s innovative design provides a high standard of quality with its 5-inch spindle diameter and auto tool changer. The CNC vertical turning center features a versatile configuration that enables higher efficiency. The turning center, with a table diameter of 98 inches and maximum swing of 118 inches, applies gravity to reinforce the workpiece’s stability. With a 16-position live tooling center and milling speeds up to 1500 RPM, the turning center saves time and provides greater productivity for operations.

Dean Carey, technical director, Logan Industries, said, “The addition of the new machinery will enable us to provide a high standard of quality while saving time and eliminating the complexities that often accompany machining processes. We are confident that we have the machine capabilities to meet all of our customers’ needs.”
