Mark Jensen was named VP, TAM International Oil Services, Ltd. He joined the company in 1980, and has held several positions, specifically with Canadian operations. He most recently served as manager, TAM International Oil Services, Ltd. Also, Jack Newberry was named VP of US, Latin America and Asia Pacific sales and operations. Newberry most recently served as manager, US, Latin America and Asia Pacific operations.

The US Department of the Interior’s Minerals Management Service announced the selection of Lars Herbst as the new regional director of the Gulf of Mexico OCS. Herbst will manage the leasing of OCS lands off five Gulf Coast states and supervise the regulation of more than 7,000 leases, which involve more than 4,000 platforms, along with a staff of 550.

EMGS announced that Roar Bekker has been named COO of the company. Bekker was previously VP of Industry Affairs for Schlumberger Norway. He has over 23 years of international geophysics experience in Houston, Singapore, Dubai, London and other locations.

BJ Process and Pipeline Services appointed Damion Lomman as country manager, Australia. Lomman has 12 years of experience in the process and pipeline industry, having worked in Australia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Qatar and Dubai. Previously, Lomman served as the company’s primary account manager for Woodside Energy and as country operations manager in Perth, Western Australia. Also, Andrew Manning has been appointed area manager, Middle East. With over 15 years experience in the oil and gas industry, he is based at the BJ PPS region headquarters in Dubai. Aboulkhair El-Arnous has been appointed operations manager for Abu Dhabi. Previously, he served as operations manager in Saudi Arabia for BJ PPS and as district engineer with the Well Services division in Saudi Arabia.

Dresser-Rand Group Inc. appointed Mark F. Mai as VP, general counsel and secretary of the company. He will also serve as secretary to the Board of Directors. Mai joins Dresser-Rand from Cooper Industries, where he served as associate general counsel since 2003.

Victor DeMarco has been appointed chief technical officer for Encore Energy Systems, Inc. He has over 24 years of experience in geothermal heating and cooling technology. DeMarco is the founder and CEO of Encore’s subsidiary, American Geothermal.

Texas American Resources Co. has appointed Jerry Kennedy as its VP of exploration. He has worked for the Hess Corp. over the last 25 years and has broad experience internationally and domestically in the oil and gas industry.

The Louisiana Gulf Coast Oil Exposition (LAGCOE) announced the election of a new slate of officers for the 2007 show. David Shealy, business development manager for Hughes Christensen, will serve as chairman of LAGCOE 2007. He previously served as co-chairman. Howard Wilson, president of Leed Petroleum, was named co-chairman, and Larry Lemarié, business development manager of Halliburton, has been elected treasurer. Sally Ware continues as event coordinator and director of the exposition.

Acceleware Corp. a developer of high-performance computing (HPC) applications, announced that Steven Joachims has joined the organization as VP of business development. Joachims has over 20 years of experience in the HPC business, including 17 years with Hewlett-Packard and Convex Computer Corp.

Medco Energi US LLC appointed L. Dale Wooddy III as its new president. He is a former Chevron and Ocean Energy executive with almost 30 years of international and domestic oil and gas experience. He has had assignments in Kazakhstan, Papua New Guinea, West Africa, Egypt, India, the Middle East, Russia and Indonesia.

BJ Services announced that Henri Niewold was promoted to country manager, The Netherlands, for the Well Services Division within the Europe and Africa Region. Previously, he served as area business development manager for BJ Services. Niewold joined the company in 1996 when BJ acquired his employer, Nowsco Well Services.

Robin A. Seibert, controller and chief accounting officer for the Houma, Louisiana-based Gulf Island Fabrication, Inc., has been named as the company’s new CFO and treasurer.

Ivanhoe Energy has promoted Dr. Michael Silverman to the position of executive VP and chief technology officer, with responsibility for all technical and engineering aspects of the company’s HTL heavy oil upgrading process. Silverman joined Ivanhoe Energy as VP, technology, in May 2007 from KBR, Inc. He succeeds Dr. Robert Graham, co-inventor of the HTL technology.

Enventure Global Technology appointed Lloyd Burnett to senior technical sales representative, based in Stavanger, Norway. He has over 27 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, primarily with Otis Engineering and Halliburton.

Norway-based Energy Ventures announced that Bob Schwartz has joined the firm to help establish their Houston office. Schwartz was president of HTC Energy, a component of the Houston Technology Center. Previously, he has held executive positions with ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, Weatherford and FMC, and served as Director of the Entrepreneurship Concentration of the McCombs School at The University of Texas.
