Personnel changes and promotions in the petroleum industry

CGG announced the appointment of C. Richard Price as director of 3-D Marine in the company's Offshore SBU, where he will be responsible for strategic direction, technology and operations of the company's recently expanded 3-D marine acquisition business. Price is a 30-year veteran of the seismic contracting industry, spending the past 15 years working for Veritas DGC Inc.

Dominion Exploration and Production appointed Richard L. Fowler VP and general manager, Gulf of Mexico Operations, which includes the company's deepwater, continental shelf and southern Louisiana assets. Fowler previously was general manager of deepwater development.

Edward W. Blessing, managing director of Dallas-based Blessing Petroleum Group L.L.C., was appointed to the executive committee of the nonprofit corporation Foundation for Energy Education. Blessing has been a financial advisor to the global oil and gas industry for more than three decades, helping to develop and finance petroleum projects in Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and North America.

Daniel Yergin, chairman of Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA), has been appointed executive VP and strategic advisor for IHS. Yergin, a Pulitzer-prize-winning author, will continue in his leadership role with CERA, an IHS Company. Also, he will become a member of the IHS executive leadership team and a key advisor to the company.

Energy Solutions International appointed Dr. Jo Webber to VP and CEO. Webber served as president and CEO of InnaPhase Corp. When that company was sold to Thermo Electron (TMO) in 2004, she became VP of Thermo Informatics. Also, Ann Casaday has joined the Energy Solutions management team as VP for global sales.

The SEG honored Compagnie Generale de Geophysique (CGG) with its Distinguished Achievement Award, which is given from time to time to a company for contributions that have substantially advanced the science of exploration geophysics. SEG chairman Terry Young (right) presents the award to CGG chairman and CEO Robert Brunck.

Steve Willis has joined the D.F.Barnes Ltd group of companies. He has extensive experience in steel fabrication and dimensional control for the offshore oil industry in the North Sea and Newfoundland, and has served as a consultant on various oil industry projects, including a stint with Petro-Canada.

Geotrace promoted Mark Carrigan to VP, Western Hemisphere, Tigress Software. Carrigan will initiate and build the Tigress brand in the Western Hemisphere. Geotrace acquired Tigress Geosciences, a specialist in subsurface data integration, in September 2006.

Mike Dubois was appointed casing operations manager for BJ Tubular Services in Broussard, Louisiana. He will manage the service line's operations throughout North America, particularly in the Gulf of Mexico. Dubois has 30 years of experience in the oilfield service industry, having worked for 23 years for Patterson Services, Inc. In addition, Chad Broussard was appointed facility manager of the BJ Tubular Services base in Broussard. Before joining BJ Tubular Services, Broussard was an engineer for C. H. Fenstermaker and Associates in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Ulterra Drilling Technologies named Bob Iversen as its president and CEO. Iversen was most recently president of INRG, a Houston-based consultancy that provides management, investment, sales and human resource services to the oil and gas industry.

Enerplus Resources Fund appointed Jennifer Koury as VP, Corporate Services. She has over 25 years of experience in human resources, including organizational alignment and leadership development. She has provided consulting services to a variety of oil and gas companies, including Suncor Energy, Nexen, ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips Canada Ltd. and Enerplus.

Superior Energy Services named Ashley Mark Lane international manager. He will be based in Broussard. Lane has been with Superior for nearly five years, most recently as the international manager for Stabil Drill, a Superior company offering downhole tools.

Knight Well Services, a division of Knight Oil Tools, named Rene Bergeron account manager for the Houston facility. His primary responsibility will be new business development for Houston, Dallas, Lafayette and New Orleans. Bergeron has more than 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, covering the Gulf Coast region.
