Mechanix Wear launches cut-resistant work gloves
HOUSTON -- Mechanix Wear has introduced the new M-Pact CR5, a line of work gloves for the petroleum and other heavy-use industries, at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston.
Delivering CE level 5 cut resistance, the gloves protect hands in situations that present a risk of severe abrasions, lacerations and puncture injuries. Like the original CR5 work glove, the M-Pact CR5 features a synthetic palm with an internal layer of Armortex, providing cut resistance to the palm and fingers without sacrificing fit, feel or dexterity.
Sonic-welded thermal plastic rubber delivers impact resistance to the top of the hand from the knuckles to the tip of each finger to reduce the risk of crushing and pinching injuries. XRD protection in the palm reduces impact and vibration from hand tools.
The gloves incorporate fluorescent, ANSI-107 compliant materials to improve visibility in the oilfield.
The company reports they are currently developing cold-weather versions of its work gloves for use in severe cold and Arctic conditions.
