Packers Plus launches PrimeSET liner hanger system
CALGARY -- Packers Plus Energy Services launched its PrimeSET liner hanger system. Innovative anti-preset features ensure reliability and performance, resulting in time and cost savings for operators.
Between July and December 2016, Packers Plus successfully installed and completed more than 15 wells across North America using the PrimeSET system.
Using premium sealing technology to pack-off the annulus and secure the liner in intermediate casing, the hanger can be used in both cemented and open hole applications. Key features of the tool include a balanced piston that prevents pre-setting while running in hole thereby enabling the system to reach planned depths. This system saves 1.5 hr of operational time per well over traditional systems.
Other features include:
- Entire hanger system is API V3 qualified
- Torque lock enables liner rotation (ability to rotate, push and pull in highly deviated wells)
- Large bypass flow-by area prevents running tools from unlocking prematurely
- Hold-down slips included for additional liner stability
- Bonded element design allows for higher circulation rates and liner run-in-hole speeds without damaging the element.
"We're very pleased with the success of the PrimeSET liner hanger and look forward to providing operators with reliable liner hanger systems for both open hole and cemented applications," said Packers Plus President Ian Bryant.
The PrimeSET liner hanger is available with a complete line of tubing seal accessories and elastomers and is part of a larger cemented completion suite of solutions which will be formally launched later this month.
