Gazprom Neft raises processing capacity at Iraq’s Badra field
ST. PETERSBURG, Russia -- A new process train—process train B—has been brought into operation at the central processing facility at Iraq’s Badra field, Gazprom Neft, the field’s operator, said in a statement.
The commissioning of this new infrastructure facility will increase capacity at the central processing facility from 45,000 bopd to 85,000 bopd. Process train B is intended for the treatment and separation of hydrocarbons, and is designed to receive oil from all wells at Badra field.
Process train C is expected to be brought into operation in 2016, allowing the central processing facility to reach its full planned capacity of 115,000 bopd. Prior to its full utilization, process train C will be used as a backup facility in order to minimize losses during the planned refurbishment and repair of oil treatment facilities.
“The Badra project is developing rapidly—and this experience is very important to our company,” Denis Sugaipov, head of Gazprom Neft’s major projects directorate, said. “We expect to complete drilling of four new wells at this field in 2016. The commissioning of a new process train will underpin the infrastructure essential to increasing production.”
